BACHELOR OF ARTS IN COMMUNICATION PROGRAM
Communication as a field of study covers the various ways by which humans communicate. It focuses on how verbal and non-verbal messages are used to create meanings in different contexts using diverse media platforms. It includes a broad range of subject matter ranging from the study of communication in interpersonal relationships, groups, organizations, and cultures. The program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills in the theory and practice of communication applicable in various professions and contexts, with focus on the media professions.

To be globally recognized producer of well-balanced human resources for communications who are committed to be excellent in providing service to the community in diverse media platforms that preserve and promote human dignity.
MISSION
To approximate the attainment of the stated vision, we commit ourselves to:
provide excellent communication education to students to make them globally competitive and adoptive to change;
develop among students the values of serving others by managing verbal and non-verbal communication challenges;
engage in communication research activities in collaboration with local, regional, national and international partners;
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Three to five years after graduation, the graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in Communication program shall be able to:
manifest leadership in an organization, in a team, or in communities of practices, enabled by their established expertise in the field of study to effectively work with others and achieve the objective of the group for the common good.
practice global and ethical standards and consciousness of the environment and society anchored to the moral, ethical, Ignacian-Marian core values and principles using honest, tactful, and precise language and appropriate media to serve humanity and glorify God as the model Communicator.
Manifest skills necessary for research along and across multi-disciplines to enhance one’s performance and productivity.
Engage in professional activities reflecting a profound faith in god, inspired by the spiritually of humble service and committed to a continuous search for excellence.
PROGRAM GRADUATE OUTCOMES
COM01 Defines and access information needs, assess and organize, produce, share, and utilize and knowledge in response to the changing landscapes in the academe and industry. (CMO 35, s.2017; UIC ILO3)
COM02 Communicates in different formats and platforms (print, broadcast, & online) that follows media plan effectively with others to achieve the objective of the group for the common good. (CMO 35, s.2017; UIC ILO5)
COM03 Conducts communication and media research & evaluation applying communication theories/models, principles, practices, and tools in development work that promote justice, peace, integrity, credibility, and responsibility for the glory of God, home, country, and the world. COM04 Develops and produce communication materials in different formats and platforms that demonstrate development orientation in communication work using honest, tactful, and precise language and appropriate media to serve humanity and glorify God as the model Communicator. COM05 Demonstrates communication management, leadership skills and entrepreneurial capabilities to perform tasks and responsibilities, with God as the center of endeavors making lives better for self and others. (CMO 35, s.2017; UIC ILO7)
