BACHELOR OF ARTS IN PSYCHOLOGY PROGRAM

 

Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. In general, the emphasis is on the individual person and how the person’s mental processes and behavior are affected by internal, relational, and social factors. Psychology as a discipline and professional practice contributes to national development through basic and applied research and interventions aimed at solving problems and promoting optimal development and functioning at the individual, family, group, organizations/institutions, community, and national levels. The Bachelor of Arts program provide initial training for those interested in teaching, research, and practice of psychology. Furthermore, they provide preparation for graduate studies in psychology as well as further studies in other professions such as medicine, law, and business management.

To be globally recognized producer of well-balanced human resources for the discipline of psychology who are committed to be excellent in providing service to the community in diverse setting that preserve and promote human dignity.

The approximate the attainment of the stated vision, we commit ourselves to:


1. provide critical and creative skills to students to make them globally competitive and adoptive to change;


2. develop among students the values of serving others through effective use of sound value judgment; and


3. engage in research activities along and across multi-disciplines in collaboration with local, regional, national and international partners.

 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES


Three to five years after graduation, the graduates of Bachelor of Arts in Communication program shall be able to:

 

1. manifest leadership in an organization, in a team or communities of practices, enabled by their established expertise in the field of study to effectively work with others and achieve the objective of the group for the common good.

 

2. practice global and ethical standards and consciousness of the environment and society anchored to the moral, ethical, Ignacian-Marian core values and principles using honest, tactful, and precise language and appropriate media to serve humanity and glorify God as the model Communicator.

 

3. manifest skills necessary for research along and across multi-disciplines to enhance one’s performance and productivity.

 

4. Engage in professional activities reflecting a profound faith in god, inspired by the spiritually of humble service and committed to a continuous search for excellence.
